Tomorrow Is Halloween. A time when you have to cut pumpkins mercilessly, tell scary stories, and, of course, watch horror movies. So we can’t do without the appropriate film rating. But I honestly asked myself, ” do I Like horror movies?”In truth, not all of them. Even very rare ones. I don’t like chainsaws, severed limbs, and rivers of cherry juice that pass for blood. I don’t like zombies and other monsters in rubber masks. But I just love mystical horror movies, where you don’t have to show blood or even kill someone to get creepy. I also like mystery movies, where you can’t immediately figure out who’s good, who’s bad, who’s alive, and who’s dead. Therefore, I made a rating from these pictures. Continue reading
Mysticism is the name given to any phenomenon or event that cannot be explained. However, there is still an incredible number of mystical places on the planet that have manifested themselves from ancient times to the present day, which are associated with many legends and even chilling stories. Travel is different. Someone just wants to change the environment and relax, and someone is looking for new tastes and goes on a culinary journey. Some people like to get acquainted with historical places on the map of their homeland and go on pilgrimage, while others go to meet the sights of other countries and new culture. There are lovers of nature reserves and all kinds of natural wonders, and there are seekers of thrills with a touch of mysticism. These last ones go on trips to the most ancient castles, covered with many legends and famous for their ghosts. Whether they actually exist is unknown, but stories about them are widely used to attract tourists. In any case, to admire the beauty of ancient castles, to learn their centuries – old history and for a few hours to be transported to the past is interesting and exciting in itself.
Majestic castles that once served for defense and shelter from enemy attacks, ancestral nests of famous and powerful families, residences of kings and knights ‘ possessions. For centuries they have towered over forests, hills and plains, covered with fairy tales, legends and mystical stories. Witnesses of wars and alliances, heroism and betrayal, love and hatred, all that is inherent in all manifestations of human nature. Continue reading
The gallery of strange creatures, embodied fears and sinful desires in the paintings of Alexandra Bodeller will easily take you to the farthest borders of fantasy. Each canvas is a window to the Other, where everything is decided only by imagination. Beautiful, strange and unusual paintings by the Saint Petersburg artist open the door to the alluring world of the supernatural.
Demons and monsters, unearthly landscapes – all fantastic, but elusively familiar. Most artists avoid anything related to modern mass culture. Alexandra does not follow prejudices, and very organically takes the best out of her. In the anatomy of demons, you can recognize the hyped “chitinous” style, and the elements of clothing are made in the tradition of modern fantasy (with a light feed of J. R. R. Tolkien).R. R. The “great and terrible” Belgian Maestro Jan Fabre won fame with provocative paintings, sculptures, installations and art performances. His work is so shocking that the degree of strangeness can compete with the works of the famous Damien Hirst, but this did not prevent them from showing off in the halls of the Louvre itself, opposite the immortal masterpieces of medieval painters and sculptors. Horns and hooves, bones, blood and internal organs, insects, crosses and tombstones, skeletons, death and other devils – this is a short list of the foundations on which the extraordinary creativity of Jan Fabre is based. Well, and a part of him, of course, – it is also in every, without exception, the work of the Belgian sculptor. Continue reading
