Haunted house: 5 mysterious estates in Russia, where they promise a meeting with the unknown

In Europe, houses and castles associated with mystical stories are always popular among tourists. Ghosts that supposedly live in ancient palaces become a brand for which fans of the unknown are ready to pay round sums. However, in Russia there are no fewer places where, if you believe the legends, you can meet with ghosts. There is no doubt that fans of the otherworldly will get a chilling experience in these estates.
The estate was built by Dmitry Filippov, the son of a Moscow Baker. The secluded place for construction was chosen for a reason. In his own estate, Dmitry wanted to hide his beloved, the Gypsy Aza. He fell in love with her at first sight, as soon as he saw her in the Gypsy choir. He had built this wonderfully romantic mansion for her. However, soon the windy Baker found comfort in the arms of another beauty, and the proud Gypsy, unable to bear the shame, climbed to the viewing platform of the estate and rushed down. Her Ghost has been haunting the area ever since.

After the revolution, the estate was in disrepair, in the 1950s there was a sports base, after-a medical center. Athletes and patients of the medical center noticed the ghostly silhouette of a long-haired girl in a wide Gypsy skirt.

Today, the estate is in disrepair, only lovers of mysticism wander here, hoping to meet Aza in the deserted halls. The building is gradually being destroyed, you can not get here with an organized tour group, but single travelers can admire the once luxurious structure.

In a picturesque place on the Bank of the river Vorgol, in the middle of steep cliffs, the merchant Taldykin built his mansion in 1868. In addition to the beautiful house, there were many outbuildings, a private mill, and a small embankment. Despite the fact that the estate was significantly damaged during the great Patriotic war, the main house is still in good condition.

Taldykina the couple was widely known for his kindly attitude towards people and willingness to help those in need. They gave a lot to charity, and everyone who turned to them with their trouble could count on the participation of the merchant family. But their wealth did not give rest to a distant relative. He killed the couple in the hope of getting an inheritance.
After the funeral, many residents of the surrounding area began to notice that the Taldykins ‘ grave was healing wounds and ailments. But in 1931, representatives of the Soviet government decided to fight against prejudice, and The taldykins ‘ grave was desecrated. Local residents wanted to reburial the bodies of the couple, but, according to legend, suddenly a void formed under the coffins in a new place, swallowing the bodies of benefactors. And in the district in different places after that, sinkholes and caves began to appear.

The restless souls of the couple found shelter in their own estate. After the war, a holiday home was set up there, but it was soon closed. Local residents say that the spirit of the couple will only allow someone to enter the mansion who will come with a pure heart and restore their once beautiful home.

Legend has it that the Princess of Oldenburg, mistress of a beautiful Palace in the village of Ramon, rejected the advances of a powerful sorcerer. In revenge, he cursed the Palace and all who lived in it. After that, strange things began to happen in the manor, and the son of the Oldenburg couple Peter became interested in searching for ancient Egyptian civilization. It was said that in the dark cellars of the Palace, he performed some strange experiments on people.

Today, the Palace houses a Museum, the real owners of which are considered to live there three ghosts. When the plaster in the basement collapsed, it turned out that the outline of the damage exactly corresponds to the silhouette of the unapproachable mistress of the Palace.

This manor belonged to the landowners by Pavlicheni who were members of the Masonic Lodge. The entire estate is built using symbols and secret signs of Freemasons. During the construction of Povalishina, a secret message was encoded in the layout of the estate and in each building, which has not yet been solved.

Local residents try to avoid the estate. According to them, as soon as a traveler crosses the border of the estate, he begins to feel weakness, malaise, attacks of nausea. Perhaps the ghosts of the owners are waiting to visit only followers of the ideas of Freemasons.

The former count’s estate was nationalized after the revolution. Here the regiment was quartered, then communal apartments were arranged, then a club with a disco was located. Local residents claim that in the manor, which today stands empty, the spirit of the count’s daughter lives.
She committed suicide because of an unhappy love, and now the soul of the girl wanders restlessly around the estate and asks people for sweets. Due to the fact that several young people drowned in the pond located on the territory of the estate at different times, it was said that the count’s daughter was luring them to the bottom. This is how she takes revenge on men for their unrequited love.
