See with your skin: the unsolved phenomenon of the Soviet psychic Rosa Kuleshova
“Clairvoyance”, “skin vision” or even “quackery”. As soon as in the 1960-70s, the superpowers of the phenomenal girl Rosa Kuleshova were not called. Scientists and doctors have struggled to figure out how she can “read” with her eyes closed, but neither has been able to provide a scientific explanation for her secret talent.
Rosa Kuleshova, at first glance, was quite an ordinary girl born in the post-war years. The father was killed at the front, the mother arranged her personal life by getting married for the second time, and the grandmother took care of the baby. However, this did not last long: my grandmother lived a short life and, left almost an orphan after her death, rose was forced to drop out of school and get a job as a nurse, although she finished only 7 classes. The girl’s health deteriorated: due to a nervous breakdown, she developed epilepsy.
To distract from heavy thoughts and loneliness, the girl began to help the sick in their off-hours, she organized a drama club for the blind. At the same time, she became interested in how people who have lost their sight can read texts. Rose decided to learn “touch reading” on her own, but instead of books printed in Braille, she took regular editions. Long hours of painstaking work, and rose achieved her first success.
Perhaps no one would have known about the girl’s abilities for a long time, but in 1962, she was admitted to the hospital with angina and there, out of boredom, offered to amuse the neighbors on the ward – read to them blindly. The women were shocked and immediately told the doctors about it, but they only recorded their phenomenal abilities, and they could not explain them. Rose realized that her abilities needed to be developed: first she began performing in a circus for children, then she got a job at a school for the blind, teaching them to read. Over time, she learned to get information from touching not only her fingers, but also her feet, and even her elbows. The girl “read” everything-books, letters, magazines. She could recognize the denomination of a bill by touch, or the date on a loose calendar.
Experiments with Rosa Kuleshova
Rosa Kuleshova lived a short life, she died of a brain tumor before reaching her 40th birthday. The exact answer to the question of how she could read without looking, we have not learned, scientists have not been able to get to the truth. Even more mysterious to this day is the identity of wolf messing, a fortune teller, telepath, hoaxer and entertainer.
